Epoxy floor paint is a durable and chemical-resistant coating designed to safeguard concrete flooring against damage, shockproof shockproof shockproof and easy maintenance.
Epoxy paints have low odor levels compared to traditional urethanes that contain added solvents that require extensive ventilation, making this solution both durable and visually appealing. When properly installed by a professional, high-quality epoxy coatings will not only be highly functional but also visually attractive.
Easy to Apply
Even though epoxy floor paint is hard-wearing and shock-resistant, its application is actually relatively straightforward. All it requires for success is that the concrete surface be in good condition without cracks, chips, spalls or spall marks and has been power washed and chemically etched, then you should have everything needed for applying an epoxy coat.
At minimum, it’s essential that floors be scrubbed at least once each week and daily in areas with high traffic flow. A mop and bucket will work just as effectively or for greater productivity a mechanized scrubber may be preferable. Be wary of using steel wool and caustic chemicals on your floor since these can damage its protective coating.
Install walk-off mats at the entrances to your warehouse, workshop, or garage to capture dirt, sand, and moisture underfoot as people enter – saving the floor from scratches or gouging caused by entering feet abrasions that could otherwise scratch or gouge it. Furthermore, whenever possible keep vehicles off of floors; if necessary use plywood sheets.
Resistant to Chemical Spills
Chemical-resistant epoxy coating is ideal for industrial environments, as it can stand up against harsh chemicals and acids commonly found there. This type of epoxy can be applied directly onto floors, walls, or any surface needing protection against corrosives.
Epoxy can withstand shocks, extreme temperatures and fire; it’s highly durable and resists dirt, stains and abrasions as well, making it the ideal choice for commercial and industrial spaces exposed to heavy foot traffic, machinery wear-and-tear and other sources of wear and tear.
Expert epoxy flooring contractors should always be hired rather than trying to do it themselves, because a successful installation requires meticulous preparation, clean space and full drying times – failure to adhere to these steps could require expensive repairs down the line; by working with professionals they ensure your project will be finished quickly and correctly.
Easy to Clean
Epoxy floors are an ideal choice for areas that experience heavy use or are vulnerable to chemical spills, as they offer protection from damage while being simple to maintain and clean. To keep an epoxy floor looking its best, sweep regularly to remove dirt, grit, or debris; or for deeper cleaning use a mop and degreaser such as Simple Green which works wonders on its surfaces.
Scrubbing frequency will depend on how often people walk across your floor; however, we recommend at minimum weekly for areas that see significant amounts of oil or grease build-up.
Be mindful when using cleaners that contain acids such as citrus or vinegar on your floor as this could damage the epoxy coating and cause its breakdown. For optimal results, ensure your mop is thoroughly rinsed after each use on the floor so all residue can be washed away completely.
Easy to Maintain
epoxy floor coatings differ from concrete in that they’re non-porous and resistant to oil, chemicals, and moisture – but like anything that requires care, maintenance is necessary for keeping an epoxy floor looking new and free of stains. Sweeping daily is recommended while mopping every week (or bi-weekly depending on traffic) is key in order to keep its appearance.
When your epoxy floors show signs of wear and tear, it is imperative to address them immediately. Scratches, gouges, or cuts allow moisture to seep under the floor surface and cause further damage.
if the epoxy has started to lift, check its backside to make sure there is still concrete underneath it. If there isn’t, this indicates a problem in preparation and repair will need to be undertaken immediately; otherwise it should only require professional services for discoloration restoration, which will leave your floor looking brand new!
